Booking Your Climb:
How It Works at ALPO
Booking starts with a $100 deposit: it confirms your commitment, holds your place in the group, and counts in full toward the cost of your trip. From that moment you have a dedicated manager, with oversight from ALPO’s co-founder Yevgen Staroselskiy.
Step by step: from deposit to departure
-
Step 1. The deposit and the first conversation
Once the deposit is in, we get in touch to understand what matters: what you want from the climb, when you can travel, how prepared you are, and what’s realistic for you. That conversation is where route and format get settled – group or private. -
Step 2. Your program and documents
You receive a day-by-day climb program and a list of the documents you’ll need, plus a full gear checklist with our recommendations: what to buy, what you can rent from us in Tanzania, and which stores carry it. -
Step 3. An open line until you fly
Questions are welcome at any point: insurance requirements, how to train, flights, gear.
Payment: two options
Pay in full up front, or pay 30% now with the balance due no later than 10 days before the start. The $100 deposit counts toward this amount. The 30% prepayment is refundable with at least 30 days’ notice; the deposit is non-refundable. Our cancellation terms cover the full detail, including rescheduling.
When to book
The sweet spot is 4-6 months before departure: enough time to work through the 12-week training block without rushing, to buy and break in your gear, and to sort your documents calmly. Closer to the date can work too – write to us and we'll see which groups still have space.
